The Portland Golf Society made a well overdue return to Houldsworth Golf Club where two of our members Christine Waterfield and Betty Fallows run the place as Treasurer and Secretary. Due to an injury Christine wasn’t able to play but Betty joined us, getting the short straw of sharing a buggy with Dave McGovern may have tempered her enjoyment.
There were 27 members registered for this event and the course was in fine condition and I think we all enjoyed the day. The results show what a close result we had and more of the winner later.
There are 5 par 3’s at Houldsworth so more opportunities for nearest the pin prizes and cash from the 2’s comp. However due to the difficulty of some holes only 3 prizes were claimed on Nearest the Pin and only one 2 scored, well done Jay Chambers for the 2.
