Portland Autumn Cup, 29th September 2023 @ Heaton Moor GC
As is always the case recently a rearrangement of the starting tees was necessary and 21 entries lined up at Heaton Moor for the Portland Autumn Cup.
Despite the recent poor weather the course looked in very good condition and as is tradition the Captain John Coburn led the players off.
There were again very few incidents of note on the course. Although it appears Graham Murray may be applying for the Handicaps Secretary job as twice a near miss with an errant golf ball almost creating a vacancy.
We welcomed a new member in Brian Norris who was returning to golf after and operation and judging by his score will be bidding for trophies in the not too distant future.

A close run thing again with the results as a number of card playoffs. Only a better back 9 keeping Kevin Bolton ahead of younger brother Keith.
Andy Minshull coming in with a great score of 36 points but a handicap reduction may bring him back into the pack next time out.
Next event pairs at Stockport 26th October this being the final event of the year.
