Late March 2022 - TBC

Just twenty minutes from the seaside, this romantic and thriving castle is perfect for short breaks  or if you’re looking for a more chilling experience, as one of the most haunted castles in England.

Chillingham Castle boasts some of the highest levels of paranormal activity in the country, with a large collection of spectres and apparitions spotted by visitors over the years.

The poet Longfellow begins an apt description of Chillingham with the following verse:
”All houses in which men have lived and died are haunted houses:
Through the open doors the harmless phantoms on their errands glide,
with feet that make no sounds upon the floors.”

The UK's 'must see' spectacular outdoor live action show

Day 3 Kynren - An Epic Tale of England (Great seats with Deluxe tickets)

During the day we will have free time in Durham City which is home to one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK, majestic Durham Cathedral. Together with adjacent Durham Castle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site forms one of the most stunning city panoramas in Europe. There is plenty to do here or just relax looking round the shops and try the local brew or coffee, the choice is yours. We will return to the hotel in time to change and travel to Kynren for the evening show.

As dusk falls, you take your seat in anticipation in front of a vast stage. The lake is still. You are immersed in the music. You are watching King Harold rejoicing, having conquered the Vikings, but his celebrations are short-lived. The tranquil waters of the lake begin to ripple, its surface begins to swirl. Suddenly a Norman longship erupts from its depths, bearing a fierce William of Normandy and his roaring men who leap ashore, swords held high.

This is just one of Kynren's 29 scenes which takes you on an action-packed and emotional journey through time. Encompassing the Roman occupation, the Viking and Norman invasions, medieval feasts and jousting, the splendour of the Tudors, the English Civil War, the Georgian Renaissance, Industrial Revolution and two world wars right up to the current period and many other scenes in between - Kynren takes you on a spellbinding voyage through history, myth and legend, as seen through the eyes of Arthur, the son of a mining family from the North East of England.

Brought to you by a 1,000-strong cast and crew who have been professionally trained by international performance experts in dance, theatrical combat, pyrotechnics, and equestrianism. The huge cast is joined on stage by the animals of Kynren, collectively bringing each scene to life amidst jaw-dropping special effects and an original sound track by the award-winning composer Nathan Stornetta.

Day 4  after breakfast we travel home  and stop at the Black Sheep brewery.

Immerse yourself in the world of Black Sheep r brewery in Masham, North Yorkshire to enjoy a beer experience that you’ll never forget.

We put experience at the top of our agenda when it comes to welcoming visitors, so our newly refurbished Visitor Centre is sure to keep you entertained, where you can enjoy home cooked food, tours around our historic brewery, an opportunity to buy some merchandise from our Sheepy Shop and of course, enjoy a range of freshly served beers poured by our trained in-house staff.

The tour takes you on a journey from the start of Black Sheep’s story to the present day as well as giving you a full insight into how our beers are made and the unique processes we use to create the perfect pint of Black Sheep.

The tour starts with an in-depth look at the history of Black Sheep including a short video featuring Paul and Rob Theakston. You’ll then be shepherded around the brewhouse where you’ll see the magic unfold before the tour finishes at the bar, where you can sample a range of our delicious beers.
